Ceramic Tile
|
| Ceramic tiles are typically talc or
clay bodied kiln fired modular units from 4 to 12+ inches on a side. In
generic usage the term also applies to mosaic as well as porcelain tiles.
Tiles may have a glaze on the surface to enhance appearance as well as to
protect the tiles from wear and abrasion.

| Natural Stone |
| Typically quarried from the earth and machine gauged for
thickness, these include marble, granite, limestone, slate, and other
igneous, metamorphic, or sedimentary stone. They may be polished,
honed, or have a natural cleft. Stones vary quite a bit in hardness
although all are suitable for heavy residential traffic. Resistance to
various chemicals and acids is a concern for residential counter tops. |
| Wood Flooring |
| There are many species of trees now commercially available for
use in residential and commercial flooring. The beauty of nature is
truly transformed into a durable and easy to maintain floor. Usually a
permanent addition to your home or office, wood is available in various
widths and, typically, random lengths. From beech to bamboo, there is
a wood floor to meet any design objective.
|
| Carpet |
| The carpet industry has been become the fashion industry. All
colors, textures, and styles are available to choose from. If there is
one sector of the floor covering trade that has TOO many choices, carpet
is it! Available in many yarn systems and a wide variety of patterns,
carpet leads the way for covering the most square feet in the average
home or office. With carpet, comfort is the key. |
| Solid Surface |
| Often referred to as the Cadillac of the line, solid surface
material makes for a truly durable and elegant counter top. It can
look either modern and high tech or have the classic look of a lightly
pebbled surface. If your budget is of primary concern, however, this
one would be a tough nut to crack.

| Laminated Countertops |
| The value leader for counter tops, laminated products are easy
to maintain and are available in a designer's palette of colors. They
are available in a high gloss finish as well as matte and a light
texture. Ease of maintenance and low cost of replacement make
laminates a natural choice for many applications. |
| Vinyl |
| From the old battleship linoleum that some of us still think of
when we hear the word vinyl, today's materials have come a long way in
design and ease of maintenance. Gone are the days of the deeply pitted
materials so dreaded by those who had to clean them. Today's vinyl
deserves a second look. |
