Nylon
Nylon is the strongest, most durable
and widely used carpet fiber. The soft texture holds its color well, resists
most food and beverage stains and is easy to clean.
Acrylic
With the look and feel of wool, this
fiber is found in many berber-textured styles. Carpets made of acrylic wear
well and are naturally stain resistant.
Nylon Acrylic Combinations
Combining the best features of both
nylon and acrylic, provides strength, softness and natural beauty. These
carpets are know for durability and excellent stain resistance.
Wool
Wool carpets are warm and durable, but
can be damaged by alkaline cleaning products. They're also available in fewer
shades since they don't take bright color dyes as well as other fibers.
Polyester
These carpets are reasonably durable
but some are more susceptible to oil-based stains.
Polypropylene
These carpets are inherently stain
resistant but are prone to matting & crushing in all but the densest
constructions.
